I’m a HUGE Cirque du Soleil fan! My family has teased me in the past that if I could run away with the “circus”, I would! But Cirque du Soleil is an phenomenal experience to enjoy. I’m beyond excited that Cirque du Soleil Quidam is coming to New Orleans March 13th-17th, 2013 as well as other major cities in the U.S. Quidam is a critically-acclaimed production that is unlike other Cirque du Soleil productions. Instead of taking you to an imaginary realm, Quidam is more of a self examination of our own real world problems with real-life characters that real-life concerns and dilemmas. With 52 world class acrobats, singers, musicians, and character you will be captivated the production.

The main character is young Zoe who is feels like she has lost all meaning in her life. She feels withdrawn from her parents and feels alone. But when she slides into Quidam she meets the characters that will encourage her to free her soul. I’m very excited to bring my almost 13 year old daughter with me. I think as a teen sometimes one can feel isolated or withdrawn. Even though my daughter is very outgoing, she may recognize the feeling of withdrawal from others she may know. Quidam may be something that she & others can benefit from and the two of us can have an enjoyable evening together in the process.

About the Show:

You may already be familiar with the Cirque de Soleil Quidam production since it premiered in Montreal under the Big Top in April 1996. Since that time, the production has toured on five continents and been experienced by millions of people. In December 2010, Quidam embarked on a new journey, performing the same captivating production, but now in arenas throughout North America. The international cast features 52 world-class acrobats, musicians, singers and characters. Young Zoé is bored; her parents, distant and apathetic, ignore her. Her life has lost all meaning. Seeking to fill the void of her existence, she slides into an imaginary world—the world of Quidam—where she meets characters who encourage her to free her soul.
