Baton Rouge Travel – Visiting Louisiana’s Old State Capitol #GoBR

Local travel with family is unusual in some ways. There are locations my daughter & I have visited, some we visit as a family and others that she may have visited without us. My oldest child is a traveler at heart like I am. She remembers every trip she tool her her grandparents (my parents), every school field trip with detail and every Girl Scout trip we have taken together. Today we visited Louisiana's Old State Capitol in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. My daughter & her 5th grade class Continue Reading

The Cook Hotel and Conference Center at LSU

One of my favorite parts of summer is traveling with my family. I feel very fortunate that I live under a "perfect travel arc". The Gulf Coast has so much to offer their travelers, that it would be a shame if locals did not take advantage of being a short drive away from a new adventure. This month my family & I went on a 3 day trip to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We were fortunate enough to stay at the The Cook Hotel and Conference Center at LSU. That's right, I said LSU! The boutique hotel is Continue Reading

Free Family Fun Activities #MSGulfCoast

July 29, 2013 by Maria

I feel so fortunate that for the summer I dropped down to 4 days a week (versus 5 days) in order to spend more time with my kids this summer. I miss my kids when I am at work more so during the summer months. Since I am off an extra day during the week, I try to look for fun summer activities for the kids & I. But taking the kids out in the town can get pricey. Taking the kids to a kid friendly museum or attraction can cost a minimum of $40 in my area not including lunch. So I try to look for Continue Reading

Summer Fun at Sea World Orlando Florida #VisitOrlando

July 25, 2013 by Maria

One thing I love about traveling with your family is that those memories are notched in their minds until they get older. My children have fond memories of many travel adventures and love to reminisce about those journeys we take as a family (hopefully through adulthood). When you visit Orlando you have to take some time to Sea World with the family. There is something so soothing about marine sea life that can make any theme park tranquil and a exciting at the same time. We were so excited Continue Reading

Going “Hollywood” at Universal Studios #VisitOrlando

July 22, 2013 by Maria

A few days before Christmas I was watching Big Bang Theory late one evening with my hubby & feeding my Twitter addiction. I saw a giveaway for Universal Studios Orlando Florida Tickets that was going to in 2 hours. I remember telling my husband: "I'll be right back, going to enter a quick giveaway." Little did I know I would be the winner of 4-Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure Single Day Tickets PLUS 4-Express Pass Tickets. If your doing the math with my family your looking at over $900 Continue Reading

Living outside on the New Orleans area means that locals have an artistic creativity is always overflowing. Summer Fun at LEGOLAND Florida #VisitOrlando

July 16, 2013 by Maria

While planning our trip to Orlando my son had 1 attraction on his mind: LEGOLAND! My son loves all things LEGO. From animated cartoons on tv to bricks and figurines. My almost 9 year old could not stop thinking about our upcoming summer trip. LEGOLAND Florida is a fairly new theme park. Having opened their doors in 2011, it has quickly becomes a must see theme park & attraction in the Orlando area. Forty-five minutes away from Orlando, LEGOLAND Florida is located in Winter Haven, Florida. Continue Reading

The Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes Orlando Florida

I love to travel! For me traveling is about getting the full experience at a hotel or destination without having to endure stress. The Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes Orlando Florida is nestled on 500 acres at the headwaters of the Everglades. The luxurious resort offers world class amenities, a beautiful location and Continue Reading

Gulf Islands Waterpark $5.00 Off Coupon #MSGulfCoast

July 2, 2013 by Maria

If you have read my blog in previous summers you know what a huge fan I am of Gulf Islands Waterpark in Gulfport, Mississippi. Why? for me, I love that the waterpark is large enough to get my kids excited about visiting and small enough that I'm not afraid they're going to get lost in a huge waterpark when I blink my eyes. It's safe! There are tons of lifeguards in every area of the waterpark. My children are school-aged and are very good swimmers, but in a moment's notice anything can happen. Continue Reading

Learning Can Be Fun- INFINITY Science Center #MsGulfCoast

Like many children, my kids love to explore and learn. I'm always looking for hand on learning that both my 4th grader & 7th grader can comprehend and enjoy together. Last week I took my children to the INFINITY Science Center located in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. The Mississippi Gulf Coast is such a short drive for my family that we were already very familiar with the NASA Stennis Space Center area & knew the newly open INFINITY Science Center would be a perfect match for family Continue Reading

New Orleans Family Travel: Audubon Aquarium of the Americas

June 19, 2013 by Maria

I love to travel but you know the saying: There's no place like home. Dorthy sure knew what she was talking about. Exploring your own city is a must for any family or travel. Not only is getting to your favorite local attraction budget friendly, but you can always scout the internet for deals throughout the year. Or, if your favorite attraction offers a yearly membership, being a member is the best over all deal for any family. This week I'm featuring one of my favorite all time favorite Continue Reading
