Many know Las Vegas is a great place to visit if you want to partake in casino gambling in land based casinos rather than the online casinos. However, many do not realize that it is also an excellent place for families to vacation. Many casinos today are actually part of a resort that provides a variety of activities besides casino gambling. A lot of these activities are ideal for families to enjoy. In fact, there are so many of them that a family would be hard pressed to do all the activities Continue Reading
Discover Family Holiday Travel in Tennessee
Aside from traveling for my website, I also travel with my family for our annual family vacation. Although I love basking in the sun during the warm summer months, I also travel in the fall and winter. For our family we have to travel when the kids are out of school (teen is Mz. Perfect Attendance) which can be trying at times. But before my son was even born we have been traveling to The Great Somky Mountains area of Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg. The location is breathtaking! Not only can Continue Reading
Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort #spon
The following is a sponsored post. Opinions & thoughts are my own. As many of you know the stressors of life can take a toll on any family that is why it is so important to reconnect with my loved ones whenever possible. My school aged children started school the 1st week of August. Life became crazy pretty quickly once school started. My children received their interim report cards for the 1st four weeks of school today. I'm so glad they are doing well, but I can sense that we are Continue Reading
Educational Travel: New Orleans Edition #NOLA
Because my readers know that I am in the New Orleans area, I am constantly being asked questions like: What can we do in New Orleans with our family? Is it safe for the kids? I can't bring my kids to the French Quarter can I? The misconception that New Orleans is 365 days of Mardi Gras is untrue. Traveling with your family to New Orleans is not only doable but it is a must! You know me & you have seen my family. We are like friends! Not only have I walked the French Quarter with my family Continue Reading
New Orleans Area Attractions: A Perfect History Lesson- Chalmette Battlefield #BayouTravel
Growing up in California, my brother & I made our 1st visit to Louisiana when I was 10 years old. Our grandfather took us all over Louisiana to show us all the history that ran through our state's borders. At 12 years old I moved her permanently with my family & instantly had a deep love for the culture & history of New Orleans. Being a busy working mother means time is so vital to our family. My kids are getting older and we have a very busy schedule but that doesn't mean we can't Continue Reading

Family Friendly Baton Rouge Attractions – LSU Museum of Art #BayouTravel
My Baton Rouge press trip officially concludes at the end of this week. If you have been following along you know that Baton Rouge has so much to offer families as a vacation destination. For me, it is important to include fun and education in any trip. I want my children to grow with each experience and I truly believe that Baton Rouge has so much to offer travelers. Living outside the New Orleans area culture is readily available. But our diversity is in the soil of Louisiana and why I Continue Reading
Exploring the USS KIDD – Baton Rouge Louisiana #BayouTravel
Back in January 2010, my daughter (her Girl Scout Troop) & I visited the USS KIDD in Baton Rouge Louisiana for an overnight sleepover. I have mixed feelings about our visit mostly because it was a rare freezing cold (add water and wind into the mix) January weekend + several 3rd-5th graders makes for an "interesting" weekend. But this time we visited with our family in July. I forgot that my son & husband have never visited the USS KIDD so I knew it would be an eventful day. USS Continue Reading
Wordless Wednesday Birds Eye of #NOLA
I took this pictures from the window of the Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans. I posted this picture on Instagram sometime ago but wanted to share with my readers. The city has never looked so beautiful in my eyes. Continue Reading

Ton of pictures! Please wait a few seconds for pictures to upload or refresh for a quick reload. I promise, they are worth the few seconds of wait time. Do you remember having that once in a lifetime experience as a kid? The thought that THIS has got to be the best thing you will ever experience? My children (mostly my son) had one of those experiences with me a few weeks ago. During our recent family trip to Baton Rouge we stayed at The Cook Hotel & Conference Center at LSU. Our stay was Continue Reading
A Mound in La. History – Magnolia Mound Plantation #BayouTravel
My family & I recently visited BREC Magnolia Mound Plantation in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Magnolia Mound was a short 10 minute drive from The Cook Hotel at LSU which we recently stayed at. BREC Magnolia Mound is a smaller plantation than Nottoway Plantation but is rich in Louisiana History. In 1786 (a small cottage at the time) James Hillin & hos wife Jane arrived to Baton Rouge. In 1791 they sold the 950 acre plantation to John Joyce & his family. Although the plantation was located Continue Reading
Reliving Louisiana History-Nottoway Plantation #BayouTravel
While on our recent trip to Baton Rouge, our family visited Nottoway Plantation House. Since we were trying to incorporate Louisiana History into our recent trip, we knew Nottoway Plantation would be a perfect combination of education and beauty. Nottoway Plantation is one of the largest antebellum plantation houses in the south, is composed of 64 rooms, 7 staircases, and 5 galleries. Words, nor my pictures, can truly showcase its natural beauty but I'm attempting to do so. Nottoway Continue Reading
