While on our recent trip to Baton Rouge, our family visited Nottoway Plantation House. Since we were trying to incorporate Louisiana History into our recent trip, we knew Nottoway Plantation would be a perfect combination of education and beauty. Nottoway Plantation is one of the largest antebellum plantation houses in the south, is composed of 64 rooms, 7 staircases, and 5 galleries. Words, nor my pictures, can truly showcase its natural beauty but I'm attempting to do so. Nottoway Continue Reading
Baton Rouge Travel – Visiting Louisiana’s Old State Capitol #GoBR
Local travel with family is unusual in some ways. There are locations my daughter & I have visited, some we visit as a family and others that she may have visited without us. My oldest child is a traveler at heart like I am. She remembers every trip she tool her her grandparents (my parents), every school field trip with detail and every Girl Scout trip we have taken together. Today we visited Louisiana's Old State Capitol in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. My daughter & her 5th grade class Continue Reading
Moved to Tears #GospelBrunch
Disclosure: Complimentary tickets were provided to me as a blogger. All opinions & experiences are my own. Almost 2 weeks ago my husband & I went to New Orleans to enjoy The All-New Gospel Brunch at House of Blues New Orleans, Produced by Kirk Franklin. If you live in the area or have traveled to New Orleans, The House of Blues is a musical landmark on its own. I've been to many concerts there back in the day and was thrilled to have a few hours alone with my husband. No kids, no work, Continue Reading
Wordless Wednesday- LSU Geaux Tigers!
We recently returned from our 3 day trip to Baton Rouge, La. During our stay we were fortunate to stay at The Cook Hotel & Conference Center at LSU. One small perk to staying at the hotel was that we were adjacent to The Jack and Priscilla Andonie Museum which is home to LSU's Athletics history. We walked from the hotel to the parking lot and had a nice visit in the museum. As many of you know our family loves athletics. Both of my children play several sports and husband has coached many of Continue Reading

Pass The French Market Coffee, STAT #FMCup
Disclosure: I received items in order to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own & can not be influenced in any way. In my family there is a slight coffee addiction. Coffee in the morning, coffee after lunch & even coffee before bed. It's bad, I know but it's something my husband & I are just used to. For the most part we enjoy our coffee the same way (with the exception that he generally likes his just a tad bit sweet than I care) but our only fight is bagged versus single serve Continue Reading
Laugh, Dance & Maybe Even Cry: Despicable Me 2 #DS2
I was provided w/ 4 reserved seats to the advanced screening of Despicable Me 2. As always, all opinions are my own. I love summertime for a number of reasons but I can't help to enjoy summer movie blockbusters! Bringing the kids to the movies is something we have done since my daughter was about 3 years old. Now that she is almost 13 years old, we have had our fair share of family animated movies. Last night my family & I were fortunate enough to attend the advance screening of Continue Reading
New Orleans Family Travel: Audubon Aquarium of the Americas
I love to travel but you know the saying: There's no place like home. Dorthy sure knew what she was talking about. Exploring your own city is a must for any family or travel. Not only is getting to your favorite local attraction budget friendly, but you can always scout the internet for deals throughout the year. Or, if your favorite attraction offers a yearly membership, being a member is the best over all deal for any family. This week I'm featuring one of my favorite all time favorite Continue Reading
Drive Back In Time- Classic Car Show
If you're like me, your "spare" time is divided by your family & your home. Over the years my husband & I have been a part of many organizations. Fundraising is something we do out of necessity. But after several years of fundraising it can get tiresome and difficult to plan. Several years ago my son's football league came up with a unique way to drive revenue to the league while creating an event for locals to enjoy and participate in. What transpired was a Antique Car Show & Continue Reading

Big Wheel Keep On Turning- Steamboat Natchez #NOLA
New Orleans is one of those cities that you must come to visit at least once in your life. I find that once you visit, you will always have a sweet spot for the city and return whenever possible. One thing that I love about living right outside the New Orleans area is that my family gets the best of both worlds. We live in a small town (actually, outside "town limits") but live just a short drive away from everything that New Orleans can offer so many tourist. Memorial Day weekend, my Continue Reading
Making New Memories at The Hotel Monteleone
17 years ago this week I was attended my Senior Prom. Unlike many girls , I didn't anticipate this day with excitement. To be honest, I wasn't a "girly girl" at all. I played sports, always wanted to make people laugh and dreaded getting dressed up. "My thing" was waiting until the last minute to decide if I was going to a dance and naturally finding a dress for it wasn't on my list of top priorities either. Since I wasn't dating anyone at the time, my friends convinced me to go to prom Continue Reading
