Carnival Cruise Sunshine Kid's Area Waterslides

When I travel I always have one thing on my mind: FAMILY. I wish I could travel alone or with just my husband but with our busy work week, kids activities, local organizations and my blog I have to make time for my children especially when traveling. Carnival Cruise Lines has taken care of the key element to traveling when they created Carnival Cruise Sunshine. Part of the 155 Million Dollar renovation features fun zones like Waterworks and SportsSquare which is located on the aft of the cruise ship.

Carnival Cruise Sunshine Kids Area - Splash Zone

Family fun is taken to a entire new level in the WaterWorks area. Waterworks features a 235 foot Speedway Splash, a 334-foot-long and 47-foot-high Twister slide and five different slides which is the longest in the “Fun Ship” fleet. PowerDrencher a 150-gallon tipping bucket and 40 interactive water features give children hours of waterfun aboard the Carnival Sunshine. Passengers must be at least 42 inches tall to ride the slides but here is also a SplashZone for younger kids.

If your looking for dry family fun the Sunshine’s SportSquare includes a ropes course, mini-golf course, a basketball court, jogging track, table tennis, Foosball and pool tables and more. The Sky Track (or running track) goes around SportSquare and the basketball court. The Sky Track is a great workout since seven laps equate one mile. I think your children will be ready for a nap once getting a workout in at the SportsSquare!

Carnival Cruise Sunshine

A fantastic resource to use while aboard Carnival Sunshine is Camp Carnival. As with other ships the Camp Carnival Child Development Center takes excellent care of little ones with age appropriate group fun. Toddlers ages 2-5, Juniors ages 6-8 and Intermediates, ages 9-11 each enjoy their own dedicated space and very own Camp Director. Age-appropriate planned activities are provided throughout the cruise during daytime hours and the child care and children’s programs are free. If you are wanting to enjoy a show in the evening, there are late night babysitting services (no babysitting in the cabins) that are available and come with an extra charge. For more information on Carnival Cruise Lines: Carnival Sunshine visit my previous post on docking info in New Orleans, its upcoming home in Florida and ship details.

I am terrified of heights… but I can just see my husband leading our three girls up the slide for the big plunge! It’s amazing what they can fit on these ships. Just so cool.

Looks like loads of fun, but I’m scared to even consider a cruise ship for traveling. I’m sure the kids would LOVE this for a trip….maybe one day. :) Thanks for sharing.

I just can’t wrap my head around going on cruise. The thought almost terrifies me and I don’t know why!

As for our must have….a pool and preferably with an indoor and an outdoor.

My kids would be all over that in a second. My parents are constantly trying to convince us to go cruising.

WOW! I don’t like huge tube water slides on the ground I would totally go nuts and well never go on one on a boat. You are very brave. It does look like a cool family cruise ship though.

I would love to go on another cruise, that is the one trip where mom’s actually get to enjoy it more. Most other trips we end up cooking adn cleaning something.

I’ve never been on a cruise but I would really like to go on one. Its been on my backlist for some time now. You would think I would be so tired of cursing on a ship being that I was station on a navy vessel for 4 years. I know for sure the experience will not be the same. This is such a great post!
