If you have never visited Sea World – Orlando, Florida you are missing out. From thrilling roller coasters to theatrical animal shows, your children will have a unique animal encounter they will not forget. But aside from thrill rides like Manta and Kraken, you will find an array of children’s activities educational experiences and learn about animal rescue and conservation as well.
This year, Sea World is celebrating their 50th anniversary with a bang! Sea World’s 50th anniversary includes a Sea of Surprises. Starting earlier this spring, the Surprise Squad has been delivering surprises and prizes to guests. Weather it is a special encounter or big prize, you never know what might be in store for you in 2014.
Also being showcased are several recycled art pieces. These unique works of art are made from billions of pounds of garbage that endanger the ocean and disturbs ocean preservation.
In addition to a 24/7 penguin webcam, bottle-nose dolphins, parrots, killer whales and more are the the true stars of Sea World. Your children can learn more about specific animals and the care they need. Various animal interactions can take the place of those who are too young for roller coasters and give new meaning to a thrilling experience.
Animal Exhibits like TurtleTrek®’s 3D 360° theatre showcases just how vulnerable the sea turtle really are. From hatching on the beach to making their turtle trek to the open waters, your children will be amazed by the journey they experience.
I visited Sea World during their Spooktacular Halloween Event but additional events are in the works for guests. Sea World’s Christmas Celebration is next! From Santa to Shamu your family can make new Christmas memories this year. Christmas Signature Show Seating with Santa’s Fireside Feast will include a special guest, let’s just say he doesn’t have a white beard!
Children will love visiting Dolphin Cove or the Dolphin Nursery. With the help of a trainer, you can feed and touch bottlenose dolphins or if you want a one of a kind experience, you can take Dolphins Up-Close Tour. Personally I have never experience in those due to the added charge but if you are interested you can participate in a training session and touch a dolphin while.
Penguins are my friends! New attraction Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin is a must for families. If the ride doesn’t interest your children your child can still encounter dozens of chilly friends in the indoor “South Pole”. The largest, most expansive attraction in SeaWorld Orlando will not disappoint. Only draw back, it is chilly!
Before you leave for the day, don’t forget about Manta Aquarium. When my family visited in 2013 we must have bypassed Manta Aquarium and the 10 aquariums where over 3,000 species if marine animals live. The 360-degree walk thru aquarium makes guests feel like they are directly inside the bottom of the ocean. The aquarium is a peaceful feeling! Honestly, the entire park is very peaceful. Between the water and the quiet marine animals to call Sea World home, you will leave with a tranquil feeling that is not available at other theme parks. .
While my family enjoys the thrill rides, your family might experience a different side of Sea World that doesn’t include roller coasters. Either way, you will have a splashing good time at Sea World Orlando.
Have you visited Sea World? Would your family enjoy the roller coasters or the animal encounters more?
