#BayouTravel Elf on the Shelf Travel Adventure(1)

Do you remember Honey, our Elf on the Shelf? I introduced you to him last year. Honey is lives at the North Pole with Santa and is originally from the Honey Island Swamp area in Southeast Louisiana.

Like us, Honey loves to travel! Last year our Elf on the Shelf had a amazing visit to East Tennessee and is ready to pack his bags for another fun adventure. Like many travelers Honey enjoys East Tennessee and The Smoky Mountains. Not only is it a beautiful area but Honey had an amazing time being a tourist before he had to return to the North Pole to help Santa prepare for Christmas.

Elf planning her After Christmas Getaway - Elf on the Shelf- Winter Escape #BayouTravel Series

This year Honey, our Elf on the Shelf is planning another adventure! Honey might even be looking at international travel as a travel option! Our #BayouTravel 2014 series: Bayou Travel Bucket List – From the Bayou to Bangkok has caught his eye. India was one of our more popular additions to the Bayou Travel Bucket List but who knows, perhaps our Elf on the Shelf might keep his travels within the North America area.

Elf Travel Preparations - Elf on the Shelf- Winter Escape #BayouTravel Series

But with any vacation, detailed planning is a must so our Elf on the Shelf is scouting locations and making travel preparations like creating a packing list. We hope our Elf on the Shelf uses some of the travel tips we have offered over the past few years. Whether you’re looking for camping travel tips or looking for cruise safety travel tips, our #BayouTravel series has you covered.

Getting a hotel travel review through TripAdvisor - Elf on the Shelf- Winter Escape #BayouTravel Series

Choosing the right resort or hotel is a must! Pictured above is our Elf on the Shelf looking for travel reviews on various resorts. But what can you expect outside of a flat review? He needs detailed pictures and attraction ideas!

Here at Blogging, Babies and the Bayou, we write resort & travel reviews as well. We love to give readers an idea of what will be in store when they book their upcoming vacation and offer tips they can use for their own family.

Holiday Air Travel - Elf on the Shelf- Winter Escape #BayouTravel Series

Our little guy is used to traveling on Santa’s sleigh but on vacation he may have to utilize another form of air travel. I hope our Elf on the Shelf checks out our airline booking tips we have offered a few months ago. Don’t forget about packing your carry on essentials . You definitely don’t want to leave home without your go-to travel wardrobe.

RV Christmas Travel - Elf on the Shelf- Winter Escape #BayouTravel Series

Our Elf on the Shelf is considering a camping trip as well. But should he tent camp or use an RV? It’s a hard decision but weighing your camping options are important. One thing to consider when planning a camping trip is to pack light. Also, don’t forget to prepare your vehicle for a travel emergency. Being stranded on the road is definitely a vacation killer!

Elf Beach Travel - Elf on the Shelf- Winter Escape #BayouTravel Series

I’m hoping our little guy considers beach travel! He may have to wait until summer to hit the beach but if he chooses international travel like Brazil, it will be the perfect weather to soak up some rays.

My personal favorite is travel destination is Mexico but maybe I’m a little biased! Either way, our Elf on the Shelf clearly has his sunscreen ready to hit the sugar sandy beaches.

Elf Warm Weather Travel - Elf on the Shelf- Winter Escape #BayouTravel Series

Regardless of where our guy goes I’m sure a vacation is exactly what he needs to recoup and rejuvenated himself. It’s not easy being a Elf especially this time of year. I hope he remembers to send his Bayou family a post card oh, and one for Santa too!

Isn’t it awesome all the fun and antics these guys are up to? Our elf Fred has not yet traveled much. Mostly he breaks into the food 😉

Clever little Elf! Love all the tips and hope you have a great trip. He will be a lot of fun (or a mess? Is your Elf messy like ours?) for the journey.
