This is part of a compensated campaign with Latina Mom Bloggers and Festival People En Español however, all opinions expressed are my own.
I remember growing up in Los Angeles Saturday morning meant watching few carton eating a bowl of cereal & relaxing until my mother woke up. Once she was awake we would start our weekend routine cleaning house with my mother. Listening to Latin music while cleaning was her way to keep us moving and working hard to clean our small duplex. I still hear the sounds of Julio Iglesias, Los Bukis, Juan Gabriel, José Feliciano & Ana Gabriel coming through our small living room radio.
This Labor Day Weekend, Latin music is back in San Antonio for 2013 PEOPLE EN ESPANOL FESTIVAL. August 31st through September 1st some of Latin Music biggest stars grace the same stage. The festival will host free daytime events with celebrities like Maite Perroni, Angelica Maria, Jencarlos Canela, and more. In the evening, the night concerts will include Latin celebrities like Gloria Estefan and Demi Lovato. A children’s area is available, with various fun and educational activities. Children should be with their parents or other adults during the concert but there is so much to do, you need to bring the entire family. If you are in the area, it’s an event you do not want to miss. If I could take a quick plane to the AlamoDome and return for work Tuesday morning I would most certainly do so. Don’t think I haven’t actually consider this option either!!
Music, familia, and entertaining go hand in hand with my Latino culture. There hasn’t been a birthday party, wedding, baby shower etc growing up where Latin music wasn’t blaring from a sound system somewhere. Now, the 2 full day festival is a celebration of our culture, entertainment and the Hispanic community. Day events will include fun and exciting events that we are so passionate about like beauty, fashion, music and of course food. But if you are interested in hard hitting panels, the “Latinos in Higher Education: Staying in School and Achieving Success” panel is being hosted by Soledad O’Brien. The panel will take place at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center on Saturday, August 31st at 2 pm (CST). Daytime events at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center are FREE so make sure you try to attend those as well. Links below can direct you to online ticket box office. You can also use 15% OFF promo code for night concerts: PSP15

I made the mistake of picking up a copy of People EN ESPANOL while traveling last year. I was on the airplane and flipped it open, couldn’t read a word, my husband laughed at me. It’s great though that People does this and that they are having such an amazing festival, filled with so many talented artists.

I know this is definitely popular in LA. One of my friends just HAD to have one. I’ll have to show her this. I bet she’ll be jealous.
